Base versions
If the planter is used in a mobile setting or placed on a sealed surface, fitting a base is recommended or necessary. To ensure reliable drainage and prevent waterlogging, this base should be permeable.
Alternatively, a closed, watertight base can be integrated – in this case, a combination of inner coating and overflow pipe is necessary to drain excess water safely.
Insulation
Insulating the inside of the planters is one of the most important accessories for protecting plant roots from heat and frost. The insulation boards are supplied whole and can be cut to an exact fit and easily installed on site.
Water storage
Hygro mats – also known as water storage mats – can optionally be integrated into planters for insulation and to support irrigation. They store up to 50% of their volume in water, replacing many times that amount of substrate.
Transport options
Maximum mobility for your raised bed or planter with naturmetall’s flexible transport options. Please note: a base version must be selected for the “forklift opening” and “castor set” transport options.
Lifting eyes
For maximum mobility, naturmetall planters can be fitted with sturdy lifting eyes on request. This allows even planted containers to be moved easily and safely by crane, without emptying or replanting. A set consists of 4 firmly welded-in lifting eyes.
Forklift openings
Forklift openings allow planted containers to be moved easily and safely with a forklift, without replanting or emptying. To conceal the openings, we recommend removable cover plates (set of 4 screw-on plates).
Castor set
Flexible relocation thanks to castors firmly attached to the planter. A castor set consists of 4 high-quality castors.
Option: MOVIO castor system
With MOVIO, raised beds and planters can be moved comfortably, even when planted. Using the integrated crank or a cordless screwdriver, the castors are retracted or extended as needed, so the position can be changed easily and in a controlled manner, for example for alignment to the sun, for maintenance or for seasonal rearranging. MOVIO is installed when ordering and cannot be retrofitted.
